Yu

   Born in Utah, United States then moved to Hsinchu, Taiwan, Crystal Yu learned to play erhu at 11 years old, and experienced a
6-years Chinese-orchestral performance.

   Yu studied bachelor degree in Architecture at the NCKU, Taiwan.

FILM SCORE

   She received her MFA in Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. 

Yu composed the score for the short film Slingshot Prince (2017) that earned the "Special Mention" in Cannes Short film Award, and The Moon Also Rises (2017); also composed additional music for feature film Shadows and Echoes (2018) in collaboration with the Wanderer Music Production. 

ADVERTISE

   Under the supervision of music producer Sheng-Ping Song, Yu scored the advertise Yamaha New CYGNUS-X (2018-4), also wrote and arranged a theme song for Sun Moon Lake introductory film (2017-5).

 

SONG

   In Nov.2016, Yu rearranged famous Taiwanese folk song “高山青” into “Tsou” ethnic version as the theme song for Alishan (famous scene spot in Taiwan).

  Recently, Yu arranged the song 生命太短路太長, which was written by producer Sheng-Ping Song, for Taitung Christian Hospital’s fundraising campaign. 

 

OTHER

   Yu composed the score for a 13-minutes-long sand painting performance Reunion with Buddha (2017-2).
